Natural stone is an obvious material choice for biophilic design, but the versatility of the material is endless and worth exploring. This session will highlight several interior and exterior projects, and the unique ways they used natural stone in functional and artistic applications.

Learning Goals:

  • Discuss the health and well-being benefits of biophilic design.
  • See recently completed projects and review the materials they used to complete the space.
  • Find out where to source responsibly produced, locally available, natural stone materials.
  • Compare the global warming potential of natural stone to other material solutions.
