This session covers best practices for crane, hoist, and sling procedures in the stone industry. These procedures have been created to limit your exposure to the hazards associated with overhead cranes, lifting loads, and moving suspended loads. Following the procedures in this course will help prevent serious injuries resulting from overloading, dropping or slipping of the load, obstructing the passage of the load, and using equipment in a manner for which it was not designed by the manufacturer.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify best practices for handling slabs with an overhead crane.
- Identify hazards connected with overhead crane operation.
- Understand that there is no place for complacency in the stone industry.
